Beyond the List and Table views, FacilityLane offers two visual ways to manage work orders: the Calendar for scheduling and the Kanban board for tracking flow by status.

Switching views

Use the view selector at the top of the Work Orders page to switch between List, Table, Calendar, and Kanban. Your active filters carry over when you switch views.

Calendar view

The Calendar shows work orders on their due dates. It is the fastest way to balance workload across days and weeks.

Drag to schedule

1

Find the work order

Locate the work order on the calendar. Work orders without a due date do not appear on the calendar — set a due date first from the work order or the List view.
2

Drag it to a new date

Click and drag the work order card to a different day. The due date updates immediately.

3

Confirm the change

The new due date is saved and recorded in the work order’s activity feed, and assignees are notified.
Filter the calendar by assignee to see one technician’s schedule, then drag work orders between days to level their workload.

Kanban view

The Kanban board groups work orders into columns by status — Open, Assigned, In Progress, On Hold, Completed, Verified, Closed, Canceled, and Rejected. See Statuses and Priorities for what each status means.

The Kanban board with work orders grouped into status columns

  • Drag a card between columns to change its status. The same status rules apply as changing status on the work order itself.
  • Column counts show how many work orders sit in each status, making bottlenecks obvious — for example, a growing On Hold column often means parts problems.
  • Cards show title, priority, assignee, and due date so you can triage without opening each work order.
Dragging a card to a new status column is equivalent to changing the status on the work order detail page and is logged in the activity feed.

Filtering within views

All four views share the same filter bar:
  • Status — one or more statuses (most useful in List, Table, and Calendar; Kanban already separates by status)
  • Priority — Critical, High, Medium, Low, None
  • Assignee — a user or team
  • Due date — a date range, such as overdue or this week
  • Search — keyword search across titles and descriptions

Combine filters to build focused working sets — for example, Kanban filtered to one team shows that team’s flow, and Calendar filtered to Critical and High priority shows your urgent schedule.
