Scan behaviors

What happens after a scan depends on what the code identifies:
  • Asset code — opens the asset detail screen, with its history and open work orders.
  • Inventory code — opens the part detail screen with quantity on hand and stock status. See Barcodes & QR Codes.
  • Location code — opens the location detail screen.
  • Work order template QR — prefills the work order create form from the template, so recurring jobs start with everything filled in.

Combine template QRs with recurring jobs: post a template QR at the equipment, and any technician can scan it to start a correctly prefilled work order on the spot.
Scanned records open from the offline cache too, so the scanner keeps working without connectivity. See Offline Mode.
