Stock levels tell FacilityLane when a part is healthy, running low, or gone. Set them once per part and the platform watches quantities for you.

The three thresholds

Set these on the part form when adding a part, or edit them later from the part detail page.

The four alert types

FacilityLane raises alerts automatically as quantities and dates change:
  • Low Stock — quantity on hand dropped below the minimum stock level.
  • Out of Stock — quantity on hand reached zero.
  • Expiring Soon — the part’s expiry date is approaching.
  • Expired — the part’s expiry date has passed. Remove expired stock from circulation.
Alerts appear as status badges on the inventory list and can be used as filters, so you can review everything that needs attention in one view.

Out of Stock parts can stall work orders. Review the alerts view regularly, or set reorder levels high enough to cover supplier lead time.

Reorder suggestions

When a part’s quantity on hand reaches its reorder level, FacilityLane adds it to the reorder suggestions view. Each suggestion shows the part, current quantity, reorder level, and linked vendors so you can place an order without hunting for supplier details.

Open reorder suggestions

From Inventory, open the reorder suggestions view to see every part at or below its reorder level.

Review quantity and vendor

Check the current quantity on hand against the maximum stock level to decide how much to order, and confirm the linked vendor.

Restock and update quantity

When the order arrives, update the quantity on hand. FacilityLane records the restock, clears the alert, and updates the last restock date.

Last restock tracking

Every part records when it was last restocked. Use the last restock date on the part detail page to spot slow-moving stock or verify that a recent order was received and entered.
Parts consumed on work orders reduce quantity on hand automatically, so alerts reflect real usage — no manual stock counts needed between audits.
Quantities, thresholds, and alerts are tracked per part per location, so the same part stored in two storerooms is alerted independently.
