Procedures are reusable checklists that tell technicians exactly how to perform a task — step by step, in the right order, with nothing forgotten. Instead of relying on memory or paper binders, you build a procedure once and attach it wherever the work happens.

What a procedure contains

A procedure is organized into sections containing structured steps. Steps can be checkboxes to tick off, values to record, or notes to enter, and any step can include rich text with images and files — a photo of the correct valve position is worth a paragraph of description.

Where procedures attach

Procedures do their work when attached to jobs:
  • Work orders — attach a procedure to a work order so the technician follows a consistent process for that repair or inspection.
  • PM schedules — link a procedure to a schedule, and every automatically generated preventive work order carries the checklist. This is how “Quarterly Filter Change” is done the same way every quarter, by any technician.

How technicians execute procedures

On web or mobile, technicians open the work order and work through the checklist step by step:
  • Check off completed steps.
  • Enter values where a step asks for a reading or measurement.
  • Add notes to record observations or issues found.
Progress is saved as they go, and the completed checklist becomes part of the work order record — evidence of exactly what was done.
